Felixstowe Port: Second Strike Set

Dock workers at Felixstowe Port have voted for more industrial action and another eight day strike is planned from 27th September.

The members of Unite union, who have also organised the strike at Liverpool, have rejected all wage increase offers from port management. The upcoming walk out out will now overlap with the planned strike on Merseyside, which runs for two weeks from September 19th.

Felixstowe Port bosses are believed to have applied a wage increase of 7% + £500 last week, without the union’s approval. However, 82% of voters still opted to strike in their recent ballot.
