Liverpool Port: Vote To Strike

Dock workers at Liverpool Port have followed Felixstowe and voted for industrial action in a recent ballot.

Felixstowe workers are currently set to walk out for eight days on Sunday, and now the same union reports its members will be striking on Merseyside too.

The Unite union ballotted around 500 of its Liverpool members and 99% of the votes cast were in favour of industrial action. The union has once more claimed that pay offers are effectively a pay cut.

There is no date set for the Liverpool strike, but the union are believed to have an ongoing ballot of engineers at the port, which is open until next week. This does seem to suggest that the strike will not clash with the Felixstowe dates.
