EU Country Code Removed From Tariff

As of today, Tuesday 8th February, the customs country code ‘EU’ has been removed from the UK Trade Tariff and the CHIEF system.

The country code will no longer be valid in any data field. Instead, the specific EU member country code must be used in CHIEF.

Removing the country code on CDS and the Online Tariff Tool will follow later. However, for good order, we recommend using  the individual country code from now on when submitting declarations using CDS.

HMRC have issued a guidance notice HERE, which includes the individual country codes to use.
