Safety and Security declarations have applied to imports from non-EU countries since 2011. Import requirements for goods from the EU (and other territories where the current entry summary declaration waiver applies) are due to be implemented from 31 October 2024.

We are aiming to support the transmission of Entry Summary (ENS) declarations for imports to GB from this date. and plan to roll out the first release in mid October. This new add on module will be provided free of charge to existing customers.

However, there are still some technical questions outstanding with HMRC, which has made the situation challenging for us and many other software developers.

The latest information from HMRC is “The current position remains that the UK currently applies a waiver for goods coming from the EU from Safety & Security (ENS) declarations. The new Government will provide an update as soon as possible on the plans …“
